Berney (she/they/siya) is a First Generation Filipino, Chinese, and Spanish actor and director. Born and raised on the Bay Area Peninsula by her beloved parents, Doug and Tess, she grew up immersed in the diverse beauty of people and landscapes—a source of inspiration that continues to shape her work.

Now based in Sacramento, Berney is a multi-nominated, award-winning performer in both film and theatre. Her accolades include nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, as well as receiving the Rising Star Award at the SacTown Movie Buffs Film Festival for her role in The Jacket (written by Cheryl Bealer-Wynton, directed by Sandy Norricks). She also received the award for the Irene Ryan Alternate Winner for Region 7 through the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

Berney makes her directorial debut with Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, opening May 10, 2025 at Stage at Burke Junction.
